Tim started playing Snare drum in the 8th grade band at Knott County Middle School. While in High School, he taught himself how to play the drum-set. During his senior year at Knott County Central he along with Tim Cody, Raymond Dzierzek, Marvin Boggs, Gary “Gumpy” Miniard formed the band FANTASY.

Fantasy played for several years in the Eastern Kentucky area and won the Battle of the Bands in Hazard, Kentucky in 1985-86. After Fantasy broke up, Tim started playing music with several other bands in and around the Hazard, Pikeville, and Prestonsburg area.

The band North Star which played local bars and parties in Ohio, consisted of Bobby Wright, Tim Engle, Raymond Dzierzek, and Gomer Sexton.

Due to a career change, Tim sold his drums in 1991.

In 2003, Tim came into the Big Eye Club where Dave was playing at the time. Tim and Dave had been long time friends and were always playing in bands together (back in the good old days). Tim set-in with the band for a couple of nights and after talking with Dave, Dave told Tim that he was moving to Lexington, Ky and was needing to quit playing for a while. Later we decided to form an awesome 70’s and 80’s Rock and Roll band. Dave has played in a band with Chuck at the Big Eye Club, Cruise, but Chuck had left the band. Tim knew Chuck from High School but had never played in a band with him. We knew we wanted him to sing and when asked, he said was up for the challenge also. Tim knew John from Nuthin Fancy and we decided to contact him to see if he was interested. He said, HELL YEA and Tim bought another set of drums.

Who would have ever thought that a bunch of Eastern Kentucky Friends could form such an AWESOME Rock and Roll Band!!!!!!!!
